Senior Data Privacy Analyst
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Privacy Analyst to support the continued development and operation of a robust privacy and data protection framework. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable privacy professional to provide practical advice, manage risk and help embed responsible data use across a complex, fast-paced environment.
You will monitor compliance with applicable data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, while supporting the delivery of privacy policies, standards and procedures. You will provide expert guidance on data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments, data-sharing arrangements, retention schedules and the use of suppliers or third-party technologies.
The role will involve maintaining records of processing activities, supporting responses to data subject rights requests and assisting with the investigation and management of personal data breaches. You will contribute to privacy reviews for new products, services and projects, identify emerging risks, and recommend proportionate controls and remedial actions. You will also prepare clear reports, metrics and management information for senior stakeholders.
Working collaboratively with legal, information security, technology, procurement and operational teams, you will promote a strong privacy culture through training, communications and practical guidance. You may also support audits, regulatory enquiries and the ongoing improvement of privacy governance processes.
We are looking for someone with substantial experience in a data protection, privacy or information governance role, together with a strong working knowledge of UK and European privacy requirements. A relevant professional qualification, such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent experience, would be advantageous. You should be confident interpreting legislation, assessing risk and communicating complex issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. Experience working with privacy management tools, conducting audits and delivering change across a large organisation would be beneficial. This role offers the opportunity to influence best practice and make a meaningful contribution to the responsible handling of personal information.
