An opportunity is available for a Data Privacy Advisor to support the responsible management and protection of personal information across a complex organisation. This role will provide practical advice on privacy requirements, helping teams to deliver compliant, proportionate and well-governed services, systems and projects.

You will advise stakeholders on data protection legislation, internal policies and best practice throughout the information lifecycle. Key responsibilities will include reviewing data protection impact assessments, supporting records of processing activities, assessing data-sharing arrangements and advising on the use of third-party suppliers. You will also contribute to the development and maintenance of privacy notices, policies, procedures, guidance and training materials.

The successful candidate will monitor emerging legislation, regulatory guidance and industry developments, translating these into clear and actionable recommendations. You will support the management of individual rights requests, personal data breaches, privacy risks and related enquiries, working collaboratively with legal, information security, technology, procurement and operational colleagues. The role will involve maintaining accurate records, preparing reports and identifying opportunities to improve privacy controls and awareness.

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in data protection, privacy compliance or information governance, together with a sound understanding of the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and relevant regulatory expectations. A recognised privacy or data protection qualification is desirable, although equivalent professional experience will be considered.

You will be confident interpreting complex requirements and explaining them clearly to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge. Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Experience of delivering privacy training, conducting compliance reviews or working with information risk frameworks would be advantageous.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a strong data protection culture while supporting the secure, ethical and transparent use of personal information.
