Data Privacy Lead - EMEA Firmwide Privacy Office

We are seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lead to support privacy governance and compliance activities across the EMEA region. Working as part of a firmwide privacy function, you will provide practical, commercially focused advice on data protection matters and help embed privacy by design across business operations, products, services and technology. This role will involve partnering with senior stakeholders, legal teams, risk professionals, information security specialists and operational teams in multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities will include advising on the interpretation and application of applicable data protection laws and regulatory requirements; supporting data protection impact assessments, records of processing activities, legitimate interest assessments and data transfer reviews; and overseeing the delivery of privacy risk assessments and remediation plans. You will help manage data subject rights requests, personal data breaches, privacy incidents and regulatory enquiries, ensuring that matters are documented, escalated and resolved appropriately. The role will also contribute to the development and maintenance of privacy policies, standards, procedures, guidance and training materials, while monitoring regulatory developments and assessing their impact on the business.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in a data privacy, information governance or related compliance role, ideally within a complex, international and highly regulated environment. You should have strong knowledge of the GDPR and wider EMEA privacy legislation, with the ability to interpret legal requirements and translate them into clear, practical actions. Experience working with cross-border data flows, third-party risk, technology projects and privacy governance frameworks is highly desirable. Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills are essential, together with sound judgement, strong organisational abilities and a collaborative approach. A relevant legal, compliance, risk or privacy qualification, or equivalent professional experience, would be advantageous.
