Vulnerability Analyst
We are seeking a Vulnerability Analyst to help identify, assess, prioritise and support the remediation of security weaknesses across a complex technology environment. Working closely with infrastructure, cloud, application, network and engineering teams, you will contribute to the ongoing improvement of the organisation’s security posture and help reduce exposure to cyber threats. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of platforms and technologies while developing practical insight into vulnerability management and risk reduction.
Your responsibilities will include conducting regular vulnerability assessments using established scanning and security testing tools; validating, investigating and analysing scan results; distinguishing genuine risks from false positives; and prioritising findings according to technical severity, business impact and exploitability. You will maintain accurate vulnerability records, produce clear reports and dashboards, track remediation activity, and provide constructive guidance to technology teams. You will also support the development of remediation plans, monitor agreed service levels, contribute to risk acceptance processes and escalate overdue or high-risk issues when appropriate. Additional duties may include assisting with patch verification, threat intelligence reviews, security assessments, audit preparation and the continuous improvement of vulnerability management procedures.
The successful candidate will have experience in vulnerability management, security operations, infrastructure security or a related cyber security discipline. You should be comfortable working with vulnerability scanners, security information sources and risk assessment methodologies, with a practical understanding of common vulnerabilities, CVSS, patching practices, operating systems, networks, cloud environments and web applications. Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to explain technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. A methodical approach, sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities are required. Relevant professional certifications or formal qualifications in cyber security would be advantageous, as would experience with scripting, reporting tools, ticketing systems and recognised security frameworks.
