Cybersecurity Analyst – Vulnerability Management
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst – Vulnerability Management to help identify, assess, prioritise, and reduce security risks across a diverse technology environment. In this role, you will support the continuous improvement of vulnerability management practices and help protect critical systems, applications, networks, and data from emerging threats. You will work closely with infrastructure, application development, cloud, and information security teams to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed effectively and within agreed timeframes.
Your responsibilities will include operating and monitoring vulnerability scanning tools, reviewing scan results, validating findings, and assessing risk based on severity, exploitability, business impact, and asset criticality. You will coordinate remediation activities with technical teams, track exceptions and compensating controls, and provide clear updates on progress and outstanding risks. You will also investigate vulnerability trends, support prioritisation of remediation campaigns, produce management reports and dashboards, and contribute to the development of metrics that demonstrate programme effectiveness. The role may also involve supporting penetration testing activities, responding to emerging vulnerabilities, and maintaining accurate asset and vulnerability records.
The successful candidate will have practical experience in vulnerability management, security operations, systems administration, or a related cybersecurity discipline. You should be familiar with vulnerability assessment methodologies, common security frameworks, CVSS scoring, patch management, and remediation lifecycle processes. Experience with vulnerability scanning platforms, security information and event management tools, cloud environments, and ticketing or governance systems is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate technical risks clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker, or other recognised cybersecurity qualifications would be advantageous. A proactive approach, strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities are important for success in this position.
