We are seeking a Cryptographic Cyber Security Engineer to design, implement and maintain secure cryptographic solutions across complex technology environments. You will play a key role in protecting sensitive information, systems and communications by applying sound security principles and industry best practice. The role will involve working closely with cyber security, infrastructure, software development and risk teams to ensure that cryptographic controls are effective, resilient and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining cryptographic architectures, key management processes, encryption standards and certificate services. You will assess the security of existing and proposed solutions, identify weaknesses and recommend practical improvements. You will contribute to the selection, configuration and lifecycle management of hardware security modules, public key infrastructure, digital certificates and encryption technologies. The role will also involve supporting secure system design, conducting technical reviews, assisting with incident investigations and providing expert advice on cryptographic risks, controls and remediation plans.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in cryptography, cyber security engineering or a closely related discipline, with a strong understanding of symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashing, digital signatures, key exchange, certificate management and secure protocols such as TLS. Experience with PKI, HSMs, cloud security services, vulnerability assessment and security architecture would be highly beneficial. You should be comfortable interpreting technical standards and frameworks, documenting complex concepts clearly and working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Relevant professional qualifications in cyber security, information assurance or cryptography are desirable. A methodical approach, strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning are essential. This is an opportunity to contribute to the protection of critical services while helping to shape robust, future-focused security capabilities.
