Threat Intelligence Researcher (Cloud)
We are seeking a Threat Intelligence Researcher (Cloud) to investigate emerging cyber threats affecting cloud environments and translate complex findings into clear, actionable intelligence. This role will suit an analytical researcher who understands modern cloud architecture, enjoys working with incomplete information and can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
You will monitor the threat landscape across cloud platforms, SaaS services and supporting technologies, identifying relevant threat actors, campaigns, vulnerabilities and attack techniques. Your responsibilities will include collecting and analysing information from open-source intelligence, technical research, security telemetry, incident reporting and trusted industry sources. You will assess the credibility and significance of intelligence, develop threat profiles and produce timely briefings, alerts and written assessments.
The role will involve tracking cloud-focused tactics, techniques and procedures, including identity and access abuse, compromised credentials, privilege escalation, exposed services, data exfiltration, supply chain attacks and cloud-native malware. You will support the development and maintenance of intelligence requirements, indicators, detection opportunities and analytical models. Where appropriate, you will map findings to recognised frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and contribute to improving processes for sharing intelligence with security operations, engineering and risk teams.
Applicants should have experience in cyber threat intelligence, security research, incident response, detection engineering or a closely related discipline. You will need a sound understanding of at least one major cloud platform, common identity and access management concepts, networking fundamentals and cloud security risks. Experience with scripting, querying security data, threat intelligence platforms or analytical tools would be advantageous, as would familiarity with malware analysis, digital forensics or vulnerability research.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, together with the ability to prioritise competing requirements and explain technical issues clearly. You should be curious, methodical and comfortable challenging assumptions while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality. Relevant professional certifications or demonstrable equivalent experience are welcome, but a proven ability to research, analyse and communicate high-quality intelligence is most important.
