Principal Threat Intelligence Analyst
We are seeking a Principal Threat Intelligence Analyst to lead the development and delivery of strategic, operational and tactical intelligence that supports informed security decisions. You will assess the evolving threat landscape, identify risks relevant to the organisation’s people, technology and operations, and translate complex information into clear, actionable insight for technical and senior audiences. The role will involve setting intelligence priorities, refining collection requirements and helping to shape the wider cyber security strategy.
You will conduct in-depth analysis of threat actors, campaigns, vulnerabilities, malware, tactics, techniques and procedures, drawing on open-source, commercial, technical and internal sources. Responsibilities will include producing high-quality intelligence reports, briefings, alerts and assessments; maintaining threat profiles and intelligence requirements; and providing timely support during significant incidents or emerging threats. You will work closely with security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, engineering, risk, legal and business teams to improve detection, prioritisation and resilience. You will also contribute to threat modelling, horizon scanning, intelligence-led exercises and the continuous improvement of analytical processes and tooling.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in cyber threat intelligence, security analysis or a related discipline, with a strong understanding of the cyber threat ecosystem and recognised frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and the intelligence cycle. You will be confident evaluating source reliability, analysing incomplete or conflicting information, and communicating judgements with appropriate context and confidence levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, together with the ability to influence stakeholders and explain technical issues in clear business language. Experience of scripting, data analysis, automation, intelligence platforms and security monitoring tools would be advantageous. You should demonstrate sound judgement, curiosity, strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced analysts.
