We are seeking a Security Reverse / Anti-Bot Engineer to join a specialist team focused on protecting digital services from automated abuse, fraud and sophisticated evasion techniques. You will investigate how modern bot mitigation systems operate, analyse adversarial behaviour and develop robust methods for identifying and managing malicious automation without disrupting legitimate users.
Your responsibilities will include reverse engineering web applications, client-side controls and anti-automation mechanisms; analysing network traffic, browser behaviour, JavaScript challenges and device signals; and researching techniques used to bypass detection systems. You will create proof-of-concept tools in controlled environments, document findings clearly and work with security, engineering and operations colleagues to improve defensive capabilities.
You will also monitor emerging threats, assess the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend practical improvements to detection, response and resilience. The role may involve analysing large volumes of telemetry, reproducing complex attack scenarios, developing test harnesses and contributing to technical standards, playbooks and incident investigations. Strong judgement will be essential to ensure all research is conducted lawfully, ethically and with appropriate safeguards.
We are looking for demonstrable experience in application security, reverse engineering, anti-bot technology, fraud prevention or a closely related discipline. You should be comfortable with HTTP and web protocols, browser internals, JavaScript, cookies, session management, TLS and common automation frameworks. Practical programming ability in Python, JavaScript, Go, Rust or a similar language is required, together with experience using debugging, proxying, traffic analysis and security testing tools.
Curiosity, methodical problem-solving and the ability to explain complex technical issues to varied audiences are important. Experience with cloud platforms, distributed systems, machine-learning-based detection, mobile applications or large-scale telemetry would be advantageous. This opportunity suits an engineer who enjoys understanding how systems can be abused and turning that knowledge into measurable, responsible security improvements.
