An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cyber Governance and Assurance Manager to lead the development, implementation and continual improvement of cyber security governance and assurance arrangements. This role will help strengthen organisational resilience by ensuring that cyber risks are identified, managed and reported effectively across a complex environment.
You will develop and maintain cyber security policies, standards, frameworks and procedures, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation, regulatory expectations and recognised industry standards. Working closely with technology, risk, compliance, audit and business stakeholders, you will provide expert advice on cyber risk management, control effectiveness and security assurance.
Key responsibilities will include coordinating cyber assurance activities, supporting internal and external audits, managing risk and compliance reporting, and overseeing the remediation of identified weaknesses. You will establish meaningful metrics and dashboards for senior leadership, prepare clear assurance reports, and promote a consistent, risk-based approach to cyber governance. The role will also contribute to security assessments, third-party assurance, control testing and the review of major technology or transformation initiatives.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in cyber security governance, risk or assurance, with a strong understanding of recognised frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST or CIS Controls. Experience of working with audit, regulatory compliance, risk registers, security policies and control frameworks is essential. Knowledge of data protection, cloud security, supplier assurance and information security management systems would be advantageous.
You will be a confident communicator, able to translate complex technical and security issues into clear, practical advice for a range of audiences, including senior stakeholders. Strong analytical, organisational and influencing skills are required, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across teams. Relevant professional qualifications, such as CISM, CISSP, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or equivalent experience, are desirable.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a tangible contribution to cyber maturity, assurance and organisational resilience while working in a role with broad visibility and strategic influence.
