We are seeking a Security Data Scientist to help strengthen the detection, investigation and prevention of cyber threats through the effective use of data, statistics and machine learning. You will work with large and complex datasets from security tools, infrastructure, applications and business systems to identify patterns, anomalies and emerging risks.

You will design, develop and maintain analytical models that support threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and security monitoring. Responsibilities will include preparing and analysing structured and unstructured data, creating meaningful features, evaluating model performance and improving detection accuracy while reducing false positives. You will also develop dashboards, reports and visualisations that communicate security insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Working closely with security engineers, threat analysts, software developers and data specialists, you will translate complex security challenges into practical, data-driven solutions. You will contribute to the development of scalable data pipelines, establish appropriate metrics and provide evidence-based recommendations to improve security controls. You may also support investigations by conducting exploratory analysis, identifying suspicious behaviour and explaining analytical findings in a clear and concise manner.

The successful candidate will have experience in data science, machine learning, statistics, cybersecurity or a related discipline, together with strong programming skills in Python or a similar language. You should be confident working with SQL, data manipulation libraries and visualisation tools, and have a sound understanding of model validation, experimentation and data quality. Knowledge of security operations, threat intelligence, network activity, identity data or cloud environments would be advantageous.

You will be an analytical and curious problem-solver who can manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels. Experience handling sensitive information, applying responsible data practices and working within confidentiality and governance requirements is important. Relevant qualifications or professional certifications are welcome, but practical experience, a collaborative approach and a genuine interest in using data to improve cyber security are equally valued.
