We are seeking an experienced Senior Privacy Manager to lead and develop privacy governance across a complex, fast-paced organisation. This is a key role for a pragmatic privacy professional who can translate regulatory requirements into practical, proportionate controls and support colleagues in managing personal data responsibly.

You will own and maintain the privacy framework, policies and procedures, ensuring they remain aligned with applicable data protection legislation and recognised good practice. You will provide expert advice on matters including data protection impact assessments, records of processing activities, data sharing, international transfers, direct marketing, individual rights and privacy by design. You will also oversee the management of privacy risks, incidents and complaints, escalating significant issues appropriately.

Working closely with legal, security, technology, procurement, compliance and operational teams, you will embed privacy considerations into projects, products and business processes from the outset. You will monitor regulatory developments, assess their impact and make clear recommendations to senior stakeholders. The role will also involve preparing management information, reporting on key risks and controls, and supporting audits, assurance activity and regulatory engagement where required.

You will lead and develop privacy awareness and training programmes, helping to build a strong culture of accountability throughout the organisation. You may also manage or mentor privacy specialists and coordinate the work of external advisers, ensuring advice is consistent, commercially focused and delivered to a high standard.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in a senior privacy, data protection or information governance role, with a strong working knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and relevant regulatory guidance. A recognised privacy qualification, such as CIPP/E, CIPM or an equivalent professional accreditation, is desirable. You will be confident interpreting complex requirements, influencing senior stakeholders and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong judgement, excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance risk with business needs are essential.
