We are seeking an accomplished Senior Director – DevOps Security to define and lead a modern security strategy across cloud engineering, software delivery and operational platforms. This is a senior leadership role for an individual who can combine strategic vision with practical delivery, strengthening security throughout the development lifecycle while enabling teams to innovate at pace.
You will own the DevOps security roadmap, establish clear governance and risk-management frameworks, and ensure security is embedded within architecture, engineering, deployment and operational practices. Working closely with technology, product, risk and compliance leaders, you will set priorities, influence investment decisions and translate complex security requirements into effective, scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities will include leading and developing high-performing security engineering teams; implementing secure software development lifecycle practices; improving application, infrastructure and cloud security; and expanding automation across vulnerability management, code analysis, secrets management, identity, configuration and compliance controls. You will define meaningful metrics and reporting for senior stakeholders, oversee remediation of security risks, and ensure appropriate responses to incidents and emerging threats.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience leading DevOps, cloud security, application security or platform security functions within complex, technology-led environments. You will bring a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerisation, Kubernetes, public cloud platforms and security automation, together with knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry standards.
Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential. You will be confident engaging with executive stakeholders while remaining credible with engineers and technical specialists. A collaborative, pragmatic approach, strong commercial judgement and a record of delivering security transformation at scale are required. Professional qualifications in information security, cloud or related disciplines are desirable, alongside experience building inclusive, high-performing teams.
This is an opportunity to shape an enterprise-wide security capability, improve resilience and help create a culture in which secure engineering is a shared responsibility. Flexible working arrangements and a competitive benefits package are available.
