Cyber Security Analyst
We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to support the protection of critical systems, applications and information assets. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative security function where you will help identify threats, investigate incidents and strengthen the organisation’s overall cyber resilience.
You will monitor security alerts and events using security information and event management tools, endpoint protection platforms and other detection technologies. The role will involve triaging and investigating suspected incidents, assessing their impact, documenting findings and escalating appropriately. You will contribute to incident response activities, including containment, eradication and recovery, while helping to ensure that lessons learned are recorded and applied.
Key responsibilities will include reviewing vulnerability reports, supporting remediation activity and tracking risks through to resolution. You will assist with security assessments, access reviews, control testing and compliance evidence gathering. The successful candidate will also help maintain security procedures, produce clear management information and promote good cyber security practices through guidance and awareness activities.
Applicants should have practical experience in a cyber security, security operations or IT risk environment, with a sound understanding of networking, operating systems, identity and access management, cloud technologies and common attack techniques. Experience using SIEM, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management or ticketing platforms would be advantageous. Relevant qualifications or certifications, such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP or equivalent practical experience, are welcomed.
You will be analytical, methodical and confident when working with technical and non-technical colleagues. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to prioritise effectively in a changing environment. You should demonstrate curiosity, sound judgement and a commitment to continuous learning, with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
This role offers the chance to develop your expertise across security monitoring, incident response, risk management and assurance. Reasonable adjustments can be considered throughout the recruitment process to support accessibility and inclusion.
