We are seeking a Security Operations Analyst (SOC Analyst) to monitor, investigate, and respond to security events across a diverse technology environment. In this role, you will help protect systems, applications, networks, and data by identifying potential threats and ensuring that incidents are handled promptly and effectively. You will work as part of a collaborative security team, supporting continuous improvement of monitoring and response capabilities.

Key responsibilities include monitoring security alerts and dashboards, analysing logs and event data, triaging suspected incidents, and escalating high-risk or complex issues in accordance with established procedures. You will investigate indicators of compromise, support containment and remediation activities, and maintain accurate incident records. The role will also involve creating and improving detection rules, developing reports and operational metrics, participating in vulnerability and threat intelligence activities, and contributing to post-incident reviews. You may assist with security investigations, forensic data collection, access reviews, and testing of incident response playbooks. Staying informed about current cyber threats, attack techniques, and defensive technologies will be an important part of the position.

To be successful, you should have experience in a security operations, incident response, infrastructure, or related technical support environment, together with a sound understanding of cybersecurity principles. Familiarity with SIEM platforms, endpoint detection and response tools, network monitoring, firewalls, identity systems, and ticketing or case management platforms is desirable. Knowledge of common attack frameworks, security controls, log analysis, and incident handling processes will be valuable. Relevant certifications or practical training in cybersecurity are advantageous. You should be analytical, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to explain technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A willingness to participate in shift patterns or an on-call rota may be required.
