Cyber Security Analyst
We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to help protect critical systems, applications and data from evolving threats. Working as part of a collaborative security function, you will monitor the organisation’s technology environment, investigate suspicious activity and support the continuous improvement of security controls. This is an opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys solving problems, assessing risk and translating complex findings into clear, practical actions.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring security alerts and logs using SIEM and other security tools; triaging, investigating and responding to incidents; and escalating significant threats in line with established procedures. You will contribute to vulnerability management by reviewing scan results, prioritising remediation and tracking actions through to completion. The role will also involve supporting security assessments, reviewing system and application changes, maintaining accurate incident and risk documentation, and assisting with audits and compliance activities. You will help develop meaningful security reports and metrics, identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to processes, controls and user awareness. Participation in an on-call or out-of-hours incident response rota may be required.
You should have practical experience in a cyber security, security operations or related analytical role, with a sound understanding of threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and information security principles. Familiarity with SIEM platforms, endpoint detection and response tools, firewalls, intrusion detection systems and ticketing or case-management systems is desirable. Knowledge of common attack techniques, security frameworks and relevant data protection requirements would be advantageous. You will need strong analytical and investigative skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Industry-recognised certifications or equivalent experience are welcome. Above all, you should be proactive, curious and committed to maintaining high standards of confidentiality, integrity and continuous improvement.
