Cyber Security Analyst
We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to help protect critical systems, data and services from evolving cyber threats. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative security function where you will monitor activity, investigate potential incidents and support the continuous improvement of defensive controls.
You will analyse alerts from security monitoring tools, including SIEM, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management and network monitoring platforms. You will investigate suspicious activity, assess risk, identify root causes and recommend appropriate containment and remediation actions. The role will also involve maintaining accurate incident records, producing clear reports and escalating significant events in line with established procedures.
Working with technology and business teams, you will support vulnerability assessments, threat hunting, security testing and the implementation of practical risk-reduction measures. You will contribute to security reviews, audit preparation, policy updates and the development of playbooks and response procedures. Keeping informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities and industry best practice will be an important part of the role.
The successful candidate will have experience in a cyber security, security operations or related technical role, with a sound understanding of incident response, vulnerability management, identity and access management, network security and common attack techniques. Familiarity with SIEM technologies, endpoint security tools, cloud environments and frameworks such as NIST or Cyber Essentials is desirable.
You will be analytical, methodical and confident in interpreting technical information and communicating findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, works well under pressure and can prioritise effectively in a changing environment. Relevant professional qualifications or certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, SC-200, GSEC or equivalent practical experience, would be advantageous.
This role offers the opportunity to develop your expertise through varied security investigations, professional learning and involvement in projects that strengthen organisational resilience. Applicants will be required to meet appropriate pre-employment screening and security verification requirements.
