We are seeking a Cyber Essentials Analyst to support the effective management and continual improvement of an organisation’s cyber security controls. This role will help ensure that systems, processes and users meet the requirements of the Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus frameworks, while contributing to a broader culture of security and risk awareness.

You will assess technical and operational controls across areas including firewalls, secure configuration, access management, malware protection, software updates and device security. Working with colleagues across technology and business functions, you will gather evidence, identify control gaps, document findings and support the implementation of appropriate remediation plans. You will also assist with preparation for certification assessments and help maintain accurate audit records.

Key responsibilities will include monitoring compliance against Cyber Essentials requirements, reviewing vulnerability and patch management information, supporting risk assessments, tracking corrective actions and producing clear reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will contribute to the development of policies, procedures and guidance, and help deliver practical security awareness activities where required. The role may also involve supporting internal reviews, supplier assessments and responses to security-related queries.

We are looking for someone with practical knowledge of cyber security principles and a sound understanding of the Cyber Essentials framework. Experience in a security, compliance, audit or technology role would be advantageous, together with familiarity with vulnerability management, endpoint security, identity and access management, and common cloud technologies. Relevant qualifications such as Cyber Essentials Assessor training, CompTIA Security+, ISO 27001 experience or equivalent professional knowledge are desirable.

You should be analytical, organised and confident in investigating issues and challenging information constructively. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to explain technical requirements clearly to varied audiences. You will need to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively and demonstrate discretion when handling sensitive information. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your cyber security career while making a meaningful contribution to organisational resilience.
