Reference: m4bpeej0c7fnvnsc0h28

We are seeking a Cyber Essentials Assessor to join a growing cyber security consultancy and assurance team. This role will involve supporting organisations through Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus assessments, helping them understand their security responsibilities and improve their resilience against common cyber threats.

You will work directly with clients to review their technical environments, policies and security controls against the relevant scheme requirements. Your responsibilities will include gathering and analysing evidence, conducting remote or on-site assessments, identifying gaps, documenting findings and producing clear, accurate reports. You will also provide practical guidance to help clients address non-compliance and achieve certification.

The role will require you to manage several assessments at different stages, maintain accurate records and communicate progress effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You may also contribute to internal quality assurance, assessment methodology development, client workshops and wider consultancy assignments relating to governance, risk and information security.

Applicants should have practical knowledge of cyber security principles, including secure configuration, access control, malware protection, software patching, firewalls, vulnerability management and incident response. Experience of Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001, IT audit or a similar assurance framework would be advantageous. A relevant qualification, such as an information security, networking or cyber security certification, is desirable.

You will need strong analytical and report-writing skills, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to explain technical issues in clear, accessible language. The ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and build trusted client relationships is essential. We are looking for someone who is curious, professional and committed to continuous learning as the threat landscape and security standards develop.

This is an opportunity to develop your consultancy career while helping a varied range of organisations strengthen their cyber security posture. The role may involve occasional travel and will suit an assessor who enjoys combining technical investigation with client engagement and practical problem-solving.
