We are seeking a Staff Engineer to provide technical leadership within an Identity team responsible for building secure, reliable, and scalable authentication and authorization capabilities. You will help shape the long-term technical direction of identity services, working across engineering teams to improve how users, applications, and services are identified, authenticated, and granted access. This role combines hands-on engineering with architectural leadership, mentorship, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

You will define and communicate technical strategies, contribute to system and API design, and guide the delivery of robust identity solutions. Responsibilities include designing and evolving services related to authentication, authorization, access management, directory integrations, credentials, and identity lifecycle workflows. You will identify risks and opportunities across the platform, establish engineering standards, and support teams in making sound technical decisions. You will also participate in incident response, operational improvements, performance and reliability initiatives, and the development of effective monitoring and security practices.

The successful candidate will bring significant experience designing and operating distributed, production-grade systems, along with a strong understanding of identity and access management concepts such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, tokens, session management, and role- or policy-based access control. You should be comfortable working with cloud environments, APIs, databases, automation, and modern software development practices. Strong programming skills in at least one widely used language are expected, as is experience reviewing code and contributing directly to complex technical work. Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to explain complex topics clearly, influence without direct authority, and build alignment across teams. Experience mentoring engineers and leading architectural or platform-wide initiatives will be highly valued.
