We are seeking an experienced Defence Information Security Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of information security across complex defence-related programmes. This is an opportunity to shape security strategy, protect sensitive information and support the secure delivery of critical services in a highly regulated environment.

You will be responsible for maintaining effective information security governance and ensuring that security controls are aligned with business objectives, contractual obligations and relevant government and industry standards. Working with technical and non-technical stakeholders, you will provide expert advice on risk, assurance and compliance throughout the project and service lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include conducting security risk assessments, maintaining risk registers, developing security policies and producing clear, accurate assurance documentation. You will oversee security accreditation activities, support the creation of security cases and ensure that appropriate controls are implemented, tested and monitored. You will also contribute to incident response, investigations, lessons-learned activities and the continual improvement of security processes.

The role will involve building strong relationships with delivery teams, suppliers, customers and senior stakeholders. You will communicate complex security matters clearly, challenge effectively where necessary and promote a positive culture of information assurance. You may also provide guidance and mentoring to security professionals and contribute to security awareness and training initiatives.

Relevant professional qualifications or certifications would be advantageous.

You must be able to work independently, manage competing priorities and demonstrate sound judgement when handling sensitive information. Due to the nature of the role, successful applicants may be required to undergo appropriate security clearance and satisfy nationality, residency or other eligibility requirements.
