Manager – CCDI (Centre for Cyber Defence & Intelligence)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced cyber security professional to lead a specialist Cyber Defence and Intelligence function. This role will provide strategic direction and operational oversight across cyber threat intelligence, security monitoring, incident response and defensive cyber operations. You will help strengthen organisational resilience by identifying emerging threats, assessing risk and translating intelligence into practical security improvements.
You will manage and develop a team of cyber security specialists, setting clear objectives, supporting professional development and fostering a collaborative, service-focused culture. Working closely with technical, operational and senior stakeholders, you will ensure that cyber security priorities are understood and effectively integrated into wider business and technology plans.
Key responsibilities will include overseeing the collection, analysis and dissemination of cyber threat intelligence; coordinating responses to significant security incidents; maintaining effective detection and response capabilities; and providing clear briefings, reports and recommendations to senior decision-makers. You will also contribute to security strategy, policy development, assurance activity, risk management and the continuous improvement of processes, tools and technical controls.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in cyber security, cyber defence, threat intelligence or a closely related discipline, together with proven experience of leading teams and managing complex programmes or operational services. You will have a strong understanding of current cyber threats, attack techniques, security monitoring, incident management and relevant governance or compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential, along with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. You should be analytical, decisive and capable of operating effectively in a changing environment. Relevant professional certifications or qualifications in cyber security, information assurance, intelligence or risk management would be advantageous.
This is an opportunity to shape and enhance a critical cyber capability, support talented professionals and make a measurable contribution to the protection of important services, information and technology.
