AI Security Researcher
We are seeking an AI Security Researcher to investigate emerging threats affecting artificial intelligence systems and develop practical approaches to protect models, data and applications. You will work across security research, machine learning and software engineering to assess vulnerabilities throughout the AI lifecycle, from data preparation and training to deployment and monitoring.
Your responsibilities will include designing and conducting experiments into adversarial machine learning, prompt injection, model manipulation, data poisoning, privacy attacks and misuse of generative AI. You will develop proof-of-concept exploits, evaluate the effectiveness of safeguards and translate technical findings into clear recommendations. You will also contribute to threat modelling, security assessments, incident investigations and the creation of repeatable testing methodologies, tools and benchmarks.
The role involves collaborating with researchers, engineers, product specialists and security professionals to embed robust controls into AI-enabled systems. You will communicate complex findings through technical reports, presentations and, where appropriate, responsible disclosures or published research. You may also support security reviews, mentor colleagues and help shape internal standards for the safe development and operation of AI technologies.
Applicants should have experience in cybersecurity, machine learning, computer science or a closely related discipline, together with a strong understanding of modern AI systems and their security risks. Practical experience with Python and common machine learning frameworks is expected, as is the ability to analyse code, data and model behaviour. Knowledge of cloud environments, application security, incident response, cryptography or software supply-chain security would be advantageous. We are particularly interested in candidates who can work independently, challenge assumptions constructively and explain highly technical concepts to varied audiences.
This opportunity offers the chance to work on complex, fast-moving security problems with meaningful impact. You will have access to professional development, opportunities for research and collaboration, and a supportive environment that values curiosity, responsible innovation and diverse perspectives. Flexible working arrangements may be available, subject to role requirements.
