You will provide hands-on technical support for servers, networks, endpoints, cloud services and security technologies, while helping maintain a resilient and well-managed IT environment.
Key responsibilities will include monitoring infrastructure and security alerts, investigating incidents, resolving technical issues and escalating complex problems when required. You will assist with the administration of Microsoft-based systems, user accounts, permissions, endpoint protection, patching, backups and network equipment. You will help implement and test disaster recovery procedures, participate in infrastructure projects and ensure changes are planned, recorded and delivered with minimal disruption. Clear communication with colleagues and service users will be essential, as will the ability to explain technical matters in a straightforward and professional manner.
Applicants should have practical experience in IT infrastructure support, systems administration or a similar technical environment, together with a sound understanding of networking, operating systems, access management and information security principles. Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft 365, Active Directory or Entra ID, Windows Server, virtualisation platforms, firewalls, backup solutions and endpoint detection technologies would be advantageous. Relevant industry certifications or formal technical training are welcome, but demonstrable hands-on capability is equally valued. You will need strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, careful attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying risks and improving services. The successful candidate will be dependable, adaptable and comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following established security procedures.
