Data Protection and Privacy Operations Lead EMEA

We are seeking a Data Protection and Privacy Operations Lead for the EMEA region to oversee the effective delivery of privacy operations across multiple jurisdictions. This role will support the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of data protection practices, ensuring that business activities comply with applicable privacy laws, regulatory expectations and internal standards. You will act as a trusted partner to legal, compliance, information security, technology, human resources, procurement and operational teams, helping embed privacy into day-to-day decision-making and strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include managing privacy operations processes such as data subject rights requests, records of processing activities, data protection impact assessments, incident and breach response, data retention, vendor due diligence and cross-border data transfer assessments. You will coordinate responses to privacy queries and escalations, maintain accurate documentation and reporting, monitor operational performance, and identify opportunities to improve consistency and efficiency across the region. The role will also contribute to privacy training and awareness programmes, support audits and regulatory engagements, and help ensure that policies, procedures and controls remain current and effective.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in data protection, privacy operations, compliance or a closely related field, gained in a complex, international environment. Strong working knowledge of the GDPR and familiarity with other EMEA privacy requirements are essential, along with practical experience managing privacy programmes, risk assessments, data incidents and third-party processing arrangements. A relevant professional qualification or certification in privacy, legal, compliance or information security is advantageous. You will be organised, analytical and confident managing competing priorities, with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience leading projects, influencing without direct authority and working collaboratively across cultures and functions will be highly valued.
