We are seeking a Data Privacy Co-ordinator to support the effective management of data protection activities across the organisation. This role will help ensure that personal information is handled lawfully, securely and transparently, while promoting good privacy practices among colleagues and stakeholders.
Working closely with the Data Protection Officer and relevant business teams, you will co-ordinate responses to data subject requests, including access, rectification, erasure and objection requests. You will help maintain accurate records of requests, monitor deadlines and ensure that responses are complete, consistent and issued within the required timescales.
You will assist with the maintenance of data protection registers, processing records, privacy notices, retention schedules and related documentation. The role will also involve supporting data protection impact assessments, reviewing information-sharing arrangements and helping to assess the privacy implications of new projects, systems and processes.
As a key point of contact for routine privacy queries, you will provide practical guidance to colleagues and help develop awareness materials and training. You will support the investigation and recording of potential personal data breaches, escalating significant issues promptly and assisting with remedial actions and follow-up activities.
The successful candidate will have experience in data protection, information governance, compliance administration or a related area. A sound understanding of UK data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, is essential. Experience of handling confidential information, maintaining detailed records and co-ordinating work across multiple teams would be highly beneficial.
You will be organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities while meeting strict deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, together with the confidence to explain privacy requirements clearly to a range of audiences. Discretion, sound judgement and a commitment to protecting individuals’ personal information are essential for this role.
