Managing Consultant - Automotive Cyber Security
We are seeking a Managing Consultant – Automotive Cyber Security to lead the delivery of cyber security programmes across the automotive sector. In this senior role, you will advise vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and mobility organisations on identifying, managing and reducing cyber risk throughout the vehicle and product lifecycle. You will work closely with engineering, software, compliance and business stakeholders to develop practical, risk-based solutions that support secure innovation and regulatory compliance.
Your responsibilities will include leading consulting engagements from initial scoping through to delivery; assessing automotive products, systems, architectures and processes against relevant cyber security standards and regulations; and developing security strategies, governance frameworks, policies and operating models. You will guide threat modelling, risk assessments, security concept development, vulnerability management and incident response planning. You will also support compliance activities relating to standards and regulations such as ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155 and R156, ISO 24089 and established information security frameworks. The role will involve managing project plans, budgets and client expectations, reviewing technical deliverables, and presenting clear recommendations to senior decision-makers.
Applicants should have substantial experience in automotive cyber security, information security, embedded systems security, product security or a closely related consulting environment. Strong knowledge of connected vehicles, electronic control units, in-vehicle networks, telematics, cloud services, software development lifecycles and vehicle architectures is highly desirable. Experience applying threat analysis and risk assessment methodologies, security engineering principles and regulatory requirements is essential. You will need excellent communication, stakeholder management and report-writing skills, together with the ability to translate complex technical issues into commercially relevant advice. A relevant degree or professional qualification is preferred, as is experience leading multidisciplinary teams, developing client relationships and contributing to business development. The position may require occasional travel to client sites and collaboration with international teams.
