Strategic Cyber Advisory Director - Public Sector

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Cyber Advisory Director to lead the development and delivery of high-impact cybersecurity advisory services across the public sector. This senior role will help government and public service organisations strengthen their cyber resilience, manage evolving threats and align security investment with strategic priorities. You will act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, translating complex technical and regulatory issues into clear, practical recommendations that support informed decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include shaping cyber strategies, operating models and transformation roadmaps; advising on governance, risk and compliance; and providing executive-level guidance on threat management, resilience, identity, cloud security, data protection and secure digital transformation. You will lead client engagements from initial discovery through to delivery, oversee the quality of strategic outputs and ensure that recommendations are realistic, measurable and aligned with public sector requirements. The role will also involve developing propositions, contributing to business development, supporting bids and tenders, and building long-term relationships with senior leaders, technology teams, suppliers and delivery partners. You will lead and mentor multidisciplinary advisory teams, promoting high standards of professionalism, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Applicants should have substantial experience in cybersecurity leadership, consulting or strategic advisory roles, ideally within government, regulated industries or other complex enterprise environments. You will bring a strong understanding of public sector operating contexts, cyber risk management, security architecture, regulatory obligations and recognised security frameworks. Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential, together with the ability to engage confidently with both executive audiences and technical specialists. Experience delivering large-scale cyber transformation programmes, developing security strategies and managing complex stakeholder environments is highly desirable. Relevant professional qualifications in cybersecurity, information assurance, risk, audit or technology management will be advantageous. The successful candidate must demonstrate sound judgement, commercial awareness, integrity and a commitment to improving the security and resilience of essential public services.
