We are seeking an Information Security Specialist (Hybrid) to help protect information, systems and services against evolving cyber threats. This role will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of security controls, while working closely with technical and non-technical colleagues to promote a strong culture of information security.

Key responsibilities will include monitoring security events, investigating potential incidents and supporting the response, containment and resolution of security issues. You will conduct vulnerability assessments, contribute to risk assessments and security reviews, and help ensure that remedial actions are tracked through to completion. The role will also involve maintaining security documentation, policies and procedures, supporting audit activity, and providing clear reports and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

You will assist with access management, security awareness initiatives, compliance activities and the assessment of new technologies or suppliers. Working collaboratively with infrastructure, development, service delivery and governance teams, you will provide practical advice on secure design, data protection and the management of information security risks. You may also contribute to incident simulations, business continuity planning and the ongoing refinement of security standards and processes.

The successful candidate will have experience in an information security, cyber security or IT risk environment, with a sound understanding of security principles, risk management and incident response. Familiarity with recognised frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST or Cyber Essentials would be advantageous, as would relevant professional qualifications or certifications.

You should be analytical, methodical and confident in communicating technical information to a range of audiences. The ability to prioritise competing tasks, investigate problems thoroughly and work effectively both independently and as part of a team is essential. This hybrid position combines remote working with regular attendance at an office or operational site, so flexibility and a proactive approach are important.
