Cyber Incident Manager
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Incident Manager to lead the effective response to cyber security incidents across a complex and fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in protecting critical systems, services and information by coordinating incident response activity from initial detection through to resolution and recovery.
You will manage the incident response lifecycle, ensuring that incidents are assessed, prioritised, contained and resolved in line with established procedures and service levels. Working closely with security operations, infrastructure, applications, risk, legal, communications and business teams, you will provide clear direction during high-severity incidents and ensure that appropriate stakeholders remain informed throughout.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating investigations, maintaining accurate incident records, overseeing technical and business impact assessments, and supporting evidence preservation and reporting requirements. You will lead post-incident reviews, identify root causes and lessons learned, and ensure that corrective and preventative actions are clearly documented, assigned and tracked to completion. You will also contribute to the development and testing of incident response plans, playbooks and crisis management exercises.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience managing cyber security incidents, ideally within a large or regulated environment. You will understand common attack techniques, security monitoring, vulnerability management, digital forensics and incident response principles. Experience of working with Security Operations Centres, incident management platforms and recognised security frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001 would be advantageous.
Strong communication, organisation and decision-making skills are essential. You will be comfortable operating under pressure, challenging assumptions and communicating complex technical matters clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Relevant professional qualifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, GCIH or equivalent practical experience, are desirable.
This role offers the opportunity to strengthen organisational resilience, improve response capability and make a measurable contribution to cyber security risk reduction. Applicants must demonstrate sound judgement, discretion and a collaborative approach when managing sensitive and high-impact incidents.
