Information Security Consultant
We are seeking an experienced Information Security Consultant to support the development, implementation and continual improvement of information security practices across a varied client environment. This is an opportunity to provide trusted advice, deliver practical solutions and help organisations strengthen their resilience against evolving cyber threats.
You will work with stakeholders to assess information security risks, identify vulnerabilities and recommend proportionate controls. Responsibilities will include conducting security reviews and risk assessments, developing policies and procedures, supporting compliance activities, and advising on security architecture, governance and operational improvements. You will also contribute to client engagements, prepare clear reports and presentations, and communicate technical issues effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The role may involve supporting incident response activities, business continuity planning, third-party risk assessments, security awareness initiatives and the implementation of recognised security frameworks and standards. You will be expected to keep up to date with emerging threats, regulatory developments and industry best practice, translating these into actionable recommendations.
We are looking for someone with professional experience in information security, cyber security, risk management or a closely related discipline. You should have a strong understanding of security principles, governance and risk methodologies, together with experience of assessing controls and producing high-quality written deliverables. Familiarity with standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls or relevant data protection legislation would be advantageous.
Strong analytical, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential. You will need to manage competing priorities, work independently and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients. Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor, are desirable, although equivalent practical experience will be considered.
This role offers the opportunity to work on varied assignments, develop your consultancy expertise and make a measurable contribution to the security and resilience of organisations. Flexible working arrangements may be available, depending on business and client requirements.
