We are seeking a Senior SOC Analyst Engineer to support the monitoring, detection and response capability of a modern security operations function. This is an opportunity to play a key role in protecting critical systems, investigating complex threats and helping to strengthen security controls across a diverse technology environment.

You will monitor and triage security alerts, assess indicators of compromise and lead the investigation of suspected incidents from initial detection through to containment and recovery. The role will involve analysing data from SIEM, endpoint detection and response, network monitoring and vulnerability management platforms, while distinguishing genuine threats from false positives. You will also contribute to incident response procedures, forensic analysis, threat hunting and the production of clear technical reports.

As a senior member of the team, you will help develop detection rules, use cases, playbooks and automation within SIEM and SOAR technologies. You will identify opportunities to improve operational processes, support the tuning of security tooling and work closely with infrastructure, cloud, application and engineering teams to resolve vulnerabilities and reduce risk. You may also be required to mentor junior analysts and contribute to security projects, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in a SOC, incident response or cyber security engineering environment, with a strong understanding of security monitoring principles, attack methodologies and the incident lifecycle. Practical experience with SIEM platforms, endpoint security technologies, threat intelligence, network protocols and cloud security is essential. Knowledge of frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST or ISO 27001 would be advantageous.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, together with the ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with scripting or automation, particularly using Python, PowerShell or similar, would be beneficial. Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, Security+, Azure Security Engineer or equivalent are desirable. A proactive approach, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm during high-impact incidents are essential.
