We are seeking a motivated Junior SOC Analyst to join a security operations team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their cyber security career to develop practical experience in monitoring, investigating and responding to security events within a fast-paced environment.

You will monitor security alerts and events using SIEM, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management and other security tools. Working within established procedures, you will investigate suspicious activity, assess potential risks and escalate incidents to senior analysts where appropriate. You will also support the accurate recording, tracking and closure of incidents, ensuring that all actions and findings are clearly documented.

Key responsibilities will include reviewing logs and alerts, identifying indicators of compromise, carrying out initial triage, supporting incident response activities and helping to maintain effective security monitoring. You will contribute to threat intelligence research, vulnerability investigations and regular reporting, while assisting with the development of playbooks, procedures and knowledge-base articles. The role may involve participation in a shift pattern or on-call rota, depending on operational requirements.

Applicants should have a genuine interest in cyber security and a basic understanding of networking, operating systems, common attack techniques and information security principles. Experience with a SIEM platform, security monitoring tools, ticketing systems or practical labs would be advantageous. Relevant qualifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft security certifications or a degree in cyber security, computing or a related subject are welcomed, although equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

You should be analytical, methodical and confident in communicating technical information clearly. In return, you will receive structured development, mentoring and the opportunity to build a broad foundation in security operations while progressing your career in cyber security.
