Senior Security Architect - SecOps and Vulnerability Management
We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Architect to lead the development and delivery of security operations and vulnerability management capabilities across a complex technology environment. This is a strategic and hands-on role, responsible for strengthening security resilience, reducing exposure to cyber threats and ensuring that security controls support business objectives.
You will define and maintain security architecture principles, standards and roadmaps covering security operations, vulnerability identification, threat detection, incident response and remediation. Working closely with infrastructure, cloud, application, engineering and risk teams, you will ensure that security is embedded throughout the technology lifecycle and that new solutions are designed with appropriate protection from the outset.
Key responsibilities will include overseeing vulnerability management processes, including scanning, assessment, prioritisation, reporting and remediation tracking. You will develop risk-based approaches to address vulnerabilities, advise on threat-informed improvements and provide assurance that agreed actions are completed within appropriate timescales. You will also contribute to the design and continual improvement of security monitoring, logging, detection and response capabilities.
The role will involve producing architecture documentation, security patterns, technical guidance and risk assessments, as well as supporting incident investigations and post-incident improvements. You will engage with senior stakeholders, communicate complex security matters clearly and influence decisions across technical and non-technical audiences. You may also support security governance, audit activity, supplier assurance and the development of operational procedures.
Applicants should have substantial experience in security architecture, SecOps and vulnerability management, with a strong understanding of threat modelling, incident response, security monitoring, identity and access management, network security and cloud technologies. Experience with vulnerability scanning platforms, SIEM solutions, endpoint protection and security orchestration tools is highly desirable.
You will bring strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, alongside the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across multiple teams. Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, SABSA, GIAC, CCSP or equivalent practical experience, would be advantageous. A proactive approach, sound judgement and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
