Security Engineer (Corporate Security), London
An experienced Security Engineer is required to support the design, implementation and operation of corporate security systems across a complex, multi-site environment in London. This is an opportunity to work with a range of stakeholders to protect people, premises, information and critical business operations through effective, technology-led security solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining physical security technologies, including access control, CCTV, intruder detection, intercoms, visitor management and associated monitoring platforms. You will support the delivery of security engineering projects, from requirements gathering and system design through to installation, testing, commissioning and handover. The role will also involve troubleshooting faults, coordinating suppliers and ensuring systems remain reliable, compliant and fit for purpose.
You will work closely with corporate security, facilities, information technology, property and risk teams to identify vulnerabilities and recommend practical improvements. Duties will include reviewing technical documentation, maintaining asset and configuration records, contributing to security standards and procedures, supporting incident investigations, and helping to develop resilience and business continuity arrangements. Some out-of-hours support or participation in an on-call rota may be required.
Applicants should have demonstrable experience in a security engineering or electronic security role, ideally within a corporate, commercial or similarly complex environment. Knowledge of access control and CCTV systems is essential, while experience with systems integration, networking, IP-based technologies, security monitoring or command-and-control platforms would be advantageous. A relevant technical qualification, professional certification or equivalent practical experience is desirable.
You will be technically capable, methodical and confident working independently as well as collaboratively. Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential, together with the ability to manage competing priorities, assess risk and explain technical matters clearly to non-technical audiences. A proactive approach, sound judgement and a commitment to confidentiality, compliance and continuous improvement are expected.
