Security Compliance Manager - PCI DSS Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Security Compliance Manager – PCI DSS Specialist to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of payment card security compliance across the organisation. This role will provide subject-matter expertise on the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), helping to ensure that systems, processes, suppliers, and operational practices meet applicable regulatory and contractual requirements. You will work closely with information security, technology, risk, audit, legal, and business teams to embed effective controls and promote a strong culture of compliance.
Key responsibilities will include managing the PCI DSS compliance programme, maintaining the scope of the cardholder data environment, coordinating assessments and evidence collection, and overseeing remediation of identified gaps. You will conduct control reviews, risk assessments, and readiness activities; interpret changes to PCI DSS requirements; and translate them into practical policies, procedures, and technical or operational improvements. The role will also support internal and external audits, manage relationships with Qualified Security Assessors and other assurance providers, prepare compliance reporting for senior stakeholders, and track actions through to completion. You will assess third-party service providers, review security documentation, and contribute to incident response activities where payment data may be affected.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in PCI DSS compliance, information security governance, risk management, or a related discipline, with a strong understanding of the PCI DSS framework and its assessment methods. Relevant professional certification, such as PCI Professional, QSA, CISA, CISSP, or an equivalent qualification, is desirable. You should be confident interpreting technical evidence, documenting controls, identifying risks, and communicating complex requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or SOC 2, together with knowledge of cloud environments, vulnerability management, encryption, access control, and security monitoring, would be advantageous.
