Security Compliance Manager - PCI DSS specialist

We are seeking an experienced Security Compliance Manager specialising in PCI DSS to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of payment card security compliance across a complex technology and business environment. This role will own the organisation’s PCI DSS compliance programme, ensuring that policies, controls, processes and supporting evidence remain aligned with current regulatory and industry requirements.

You will manage the annual PCI DSS assessment cycle, coordinating internal stakeholders, external Qualified Security Assessors and other third parties as required. Key responsibilities include defining compliance scope, maintaining the cardholder data environment inventory, conducting risk assessments and gap analyses, overseeing remediation plans, and preparing clear reports for senior management. You will also monitor security controls, support vulnerability management and penetration-testing activities, review access control and encryption practices, and ensure that incidents, exceptions and control deficiencies are documented and addressed promptly. The role will involve translating technical requirements into practical business actions and promoting a strong culture of security and compliance.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience managing PCI DSS programmes, preferably within a regulated, financial services, retail, payments or technology environment. You should have a detailed understanding of PCI DSS requirements, assessment methodologies, security governance and control frameworks, together with experience working with auditors, assessors and cross-functional teams. Relevant certifications such as PCI QSA, CISSP, CISA, CISM or equivalent would be advantageous. Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential, as is the ability to influence senior leaders and technical teams. You will be organised, pragmatic and confident managing multiple priorities, with a proven record of delivering compliance improvements and maintaining accurate, audit-ready documentation.
