We are seeking an experienced Associate Director – Cyber Security to provide strategic leadership and operational direction across a complex information security environment. The successful candidate will shape and deliver the cyber security strategy, ensuring that security risks are identified, managed and reduced in line with business objectives, regulatory expectations and industry best practice. This is a senior role requiring strong technical understanding, sound commercial judgement and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Key responsibilities will include leading the development and implementation of cyber security policies, standards, frameworks and assurance processes; overseeing security operations, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and security monitoring; and maintaining effective governance, risk and compliance arrangements. You will direct the assessment of cyber risks associated with systems, applications, suppliers and transformation programmes, ensuring that appropriate controls and remediation plans are in place. The role will also involve managing major incidents, coordinating investigations, producing meaningful reports for senior leadership, and supporting business continuity and disaster recovery planning. You will lead, coach and develop cyber security professionals while managing budgets, suppliers and strategic partnerships.

Applicants should have substantial experience in senior cyber security, information security or technology risk leadership, ideally within a complex or highly regulated environment. You will bring a strong understanding of security architecture, identity and access management, cloud security, data protection, secure development, incident management and relevant governance frameworks. Professional qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or equivalent experience are desirable. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to translate technical risks into clear business decisions. The successful candidate will be a collaborative and decisive leader who can balance strategic planning with hands-on oversight and deliver measurable improvements in organisational resilience.
