You will provide direction across security operations, ensuring that threats are identified, investigated and contained promptly. Working closely with infrastructure, cloud, applications, risk and compliance teams, you will develop robust processes for security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management and threat intelligence. You will also act as a senior escalation point for complex or high-impact security incidents.
Key responsibilities will include overseeing the operation and development of security information and event management (SIEM), endpoint detection and response, identity monitoring and security orchestration tools. You will tune detection rules, improve alert quality, develop meaningful operational metrics and ensure that security controls remain effective against an evolving threat landscape. You will lead investigations, coordinate response activity and support post-incident reviews to strengthen resilience.
The role will also involve shaping operational strategy, improving playbooks and procedures, supporting security automation and contributing to governance, risk and audit activity. You will build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, provide clear reporting to senior leadership and promote a culture of security awareness and accountability.
Applicants should have substantial experience in cyber security operations, incident response or security engineering, with a strong understanding of security monitoring, threat detection, vulnerability management and modern cloud environments. Experience with SIEM, EDR, SOAR and identity security technologies is essential, alongside knowledge of recognised security frameworks and applicable regulatory requirements.
Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills are required, together with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear business recommendations. Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC or equivalent practical experience, would be advantageous. This role offers the opportunity to influence cyber security strategy while leading meaningful improvements to operational capability and organisational resilience.
