Principal Cyber Security Analyst (IAM)
We are seeking a Principal Cyber Security Analyst (IAM) to lead the design, improvement and assurance of identity and access management capabilities across a complex technology environment. This is a senior role for an experienced security professional who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on analysis, influencing stakeholders and delivering practical, risk-based solutions. You will help protect critical systems and data by ensuring that access is appropriately governed, monitored and aligned with security policies, regulatory obligations and business requirements.
Key responsibilities will include defining and maintaining IAM principles, standards and control frameworks; analysing access risks and recommending proportionate remediation; overseeing joiner, mover and leaver processes; supporting privileged access management, role-based access control and segregation-of-duties controls; and contributing to identity lifecycle, authentication and authorisation initiatives. You will investigate access-related security events, support audit and compliance activities, review control effectiveness and produce clear reports for technical and senior audiences. The role will also involve assessing new technologies and services, contributing to security architecture and design reviews, and helping to embed secure-by-design practices across projects and operational teams.
You will bring substantial experience in cyber security, with strong expertise in IAM principles, governance and control implementation. Knowledge of identity platforms, directory services, privileged access solutions, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication and access certification processes is expected. Experience with risk assessment, security monitoring, incident investigation, audit preparation and relevant frameworks or standards such as ISO 27001, NIST or CIS will be highly valued. Professional security or IAM certifications are desirable. You should be confident working across technical and non-technical teams, able to challenge constructively, communicate complex issues clearly and manage competing priorities. Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills are essential, together with a proactive approach to continuous improvement and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-changing environment.
