Senior Manager, Cybersecurity, Engineering, TC, UKI
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Engineering to lead the development and delivery of security engineering capabilities across the UK and Ireland. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, responsible for strengthening the organisation’s security posture through effective people leadership, robust technical controls and close collaboration with technology, product, risk and business stakeholders. You will translate security strategy into practical engineering outcomes, ensuring that solutions are scalable, resilient and aligned with regulatory and industry expectations.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for designing, implementing and operating cybersecurity solutions across areas such as cloud security, application and infrastructure protection, identity and access management, vulnerability management, security monitoring and incident response. Key responsibilities include setting engineering standards, defining roadmaps, managing priorities and budgets, overseeing third-party relationships, and ensuring that security is embedded throughout the technology lifecycle. You will provide expert guidance during architecture and design reviews, support the investigation and resolution of complex security incidents, and use metrics and risk-based reporting to demonstrate improvements to senior leadership. The role also involves building strong partnerships across the wider business and promoting a culture of secure-by-design delivery.
The successful candidate will bring significant experience leading cybersecurity engineering or information security teams within a complex, regulated or highly distributed environment. You should have strong knowledge of modern security principles, cloud technologies, secure software development, threat management and relevant control frameworks. Experience developing security strategies, managing transformation programmes and influencing stakeholders at executive level is essential. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA or equivalent are desirable. You will be an inclusive and credible leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational delivery, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, and motivate teams through change. The position offers the opportunity to shape enterprise-wide security capabilities and make a measurable impact across the UK and Ireland.
