We are seeking an experienced Interim Security Manager for a three-month contract. This is a hands-on opportunity to lead and strengthen security operations, provide clear direction to internal teams and ensure that appropriate controls are maintained across the organisation. The successful candidate will be confident operating in a fast-paced environment and able to make sound, timely decisions while managing competing priorities.

Key responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day security activities, reviewing existing policies and procedures, and identifying opportunities to improve risk management and operational resilience. You will assess current controls, support the management of security incidents, coordinate investigations and ensure that actions are recorded, communicated and completed. The role will also involve monitoring security risks, preparing concise reports for senior stakeholders and providing practical advice on potential threats and vulnerabilities.

You will work closely with colleagues across technology, facilities, risk, compliance and business operations to promote consistent security standards. Responsibilities may include supporting access control reviews, incident response planning, business continuity activity, supplier assurance and security awareness initiatives. You will be expected to maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the delivery of any urgent remediation or improvement projects required during the assignment.

Applicants should have proven experience in a security management or security operations role, ideally within a complex or regulated environment. You will need a strong understanding of risk assessment, incident management, security governance and relevant policies or standards. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, together with the ability to influence others and translate technical or operational risks into clear business language.

A professional security, risk or information security qualification would be advantageous, as would experience managing third-party providers and working across physical and information security disciplines. You must be available to start at short notice and commit to the full three-month contract. This role would suit an adaptable professional who can quickly understand the operating environment, establish priorities and deliver measurable improvements within a limited timeframe.
