Information Security Executive
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Information Security Executive to support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of effective information security practices. This role will suit a detail-oriented professional who can combine technical understanding with strong communication skills and a practical, risk-based approach.
You will help maintain and enhance information security policies, standards and procedures, ensuring they remain aligned with business needs, legal obligations and recognised industry frameworks. Working with colleagues across the organisation, you will support risk assessments, maintain security registers and assist with the identification, evaluation and treatment of information security risks.
Key responsibilities will include coordinating security awareness and training activities, monitoring compliance with established controls, supporting internal and external audits, and preparing clear reports for relevant stakeholders. You will also contribute to incident management by helping to investigate security events, record findings, track remedial actions and identify opportunities to prevent recurrence.
The role will involve collaborating with technology, operations, governance and third-party suppliers. You will assist with supplier security reviews, access management checks, vulnerability and remediation tracking, business continuity activities and the review of security-related documentation. The successful candidate will be confident in promoting good security practices and encouraging a positive, informed security culture.
Applicants should have experience in information security, cyber security, IT risk, compliance or a closely related discipline. Knowledge of recognised frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework or relevant data protection requirements, would be advantageous. Experience of security governance, audit preparation, incident response or third-party risk management is also desirable.
You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational ability and the confidence to work with people at all levels. A methodical approach, sound judgement, discretion and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. Relevant professional qualifications or certifications would be welcomed, although demonstrable practical experience will be equally valued.
