Data Scientist - Security Data & AI Lab
We are seeking a Data Scientist to join a specialist Security Data & AI Lab, developing innovative data-driven solutions to identify, understand and respond to evolving cyber threats. You will work at the intersection of data science, artificial intelligence and information security, turning complex data into practical insight that supports better decision-making and stronger protective measures.
Your responsibilities will include designing, building and evaluating statistical models, machine learning systems and analytical tools using large, varied security datasets. You will investigate patterns, anomalies and emerging risks, develop methods for detection and prediction, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will also contribute to research and experimentation involving areas such as natural language processing, graph analytics, automation and responsible generative AI.
You will collaborate with security specialists, software engineers, data engineers and operational teams to take solutions from initial concept through to deployment and continuous improvement. This will involve defining analytical requirements, preparing and validating data, measuring model performance, documenting approaches and considering issues such as bias, explainability, privacy and resilience. You may also support the development of reusable data products, technical standards and best practice across the wider team.
You should have professional experience in data science, machine learning, statistics, computer science or a related discipline, together with strong programming skills in Python or a similar language. Experience working with cloud platforms, data pipelines, SQL, version control and common machine learning frameworks would be advantageous. A sound understanding of cyber security principles, threat intelligence or security operations is desirable, but not essential.
We are looking for someone who is curious, analytical and comfortable solving ambiguous problems. You should be able to explain complex concepts with clarity, work constructively in multidisciplinary teams and manage priorities in a fast-changing environment. A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience is required, alongside a commitment to ethical, secure and responsible use of data and AI.
