Security Design Consultant
We are seeking a Security Design Consultant to support the development and delivery of secure, resilient solutions across a range of projects. You will work with clients, project teams and technical specialists to understand business needs, identify risks and translate requirements into practical security designs. This is an opportunity to contribute to varied assignments while helping organisations strengthen their security posture and protect critical information and services.
Your responsibilities will include producing security architectures, design documentation, technical standards and implementation guidance. You will assess existing environments, identify vulnerabilities and recommend proportionate controls across areas such as networks, infrastructure, cloud services, applications, identity and access management, and data protection. You will also contribute to threat modelling, risk assessments, security reviews and assurance activities, ensuring that proposed solutions meet relevant policies, regulatory obligations and industry good practice.
Working collaboratively, you will explain complex security matters to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitate design workshops and provide constructive challenge throughout the project lifecycle. You may also support the development of security patterns, reference architectures and governance processes, as well as reviewing supplier proposals and overseeing the resolution of design risks and security findings.
You should have proven experience in security architecture, secure solution design or a closely related consultancy role, with a strong understanding of common security principles, frameworks and control standards. Experience across cloud and on-premises technologies, enterprise architecture, secure development practices and risk management would be highly beneficial. Relevant professional certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, TOGAF or cloud security qualifications, are desirable but not essential.
We are looking for a confident communicator who can build effective relationships, manage competing priorities and produce clear, high-quality work. You will need sound analytical skills, commercial awareness and the ability to make balanced, risk-based decisions. A proactive approach, professional curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning are essential. The role may involve occasional travel and collaboration with distributed teams.
