You will define the organisation’s AI security vision, policies and operating model, ensuring that emerging technologies are designed, implemented and governed in line with regulatory expectations and industry best practice. You will assess AI-related threats, including model manipulation, data poisoning, prompt injection, privacy risks, insecure automation and third-party exposure, and establish appropriate controls to manage them.

Working closely with technology, risk, compliance, legal, data and business leaders, you will embed security throughout the AI lifecycle, from strategy and experimentation through to deployment, monitoring and retirement. Your responsibilities will include overseeing threat modelling, security architecture, control design, incident preparedness, vulnerability management and assurance activities. You will also support the development of standards for responsible AI, identity and access management, data protection, model governance and secure software development.

The role will provide leadership during significant cyber incidents and contribute to board-level reporting, regulatory engagement and enterprise risk management. You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influence senior decision-makers and develop a high-performing team capable of responding to a rapidly changing threat landscape.

Applicants should have substantial experience in cyber security leadership within financial services or another highly regulated sector, together with a strong understanding of cloud security, data protection, AI or machine-learning risks and security architecture. A proven record of establishing governance frameworks, managing complex programmes and communicating effectively with executive audiences is essential. Relevant professional qualifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or specialist AI security certifications, would be advantageous.

You will be a strategic thinker with sound judgement, commercial awareness and the ability to translate complex technical risks into clear business outcomes. In return, this role offers the opportunity to shape a forward-looking cyber security capability and influence the secure adoption of transformative technologies.
