Security Tooling Engineer
We are seeking a Security Tooling Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the platforms and automation that support effective cybersecurity operations. In this role, you will work closely with security engineering, infrastructure, software development, and operations teams to improve the reliability, usability, and coverage of security tools across cloud and on-premises environments. You will help translate security requirements into scalable technical solutions, while promoting secure-by-default practices and measurable improvements in risk reduction.
Your responsibilities will include building and integrating security tooling for vulnerability management, identity and access monitoring, endpoint protection, application security, detection engineering, and security posture management. You will develop automation and integrations using APIs, infrastructure-as-code, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines; maintain data flows into security monitoring and reporting platforms; and investigate and resolve operational issues affecting tool performance or coverage. You will also contribute to the selection, evaluation, configuration, and lifecycle management of security products, document technical designs and procedures, and support incident response and security investigations when required. A key part of the role will be identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve the consistency and quality of security processes.
The successful candidate will have experience engineering or administering security tools in complex technical environments, together with strong scripting or programming skills in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript. Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers, REST APIs, Linux and Windows systems, version control, and automated deployment practices is expected. You should understand core security concepts including vulnerability management, authentication, access control, logging, monitoring, and threat detection. Experience with SIEM, EDR, secrets management, configuration management, or security orchestration platforms would be advantageous. We are looking for someone analytical, collaborative, and pragmatic, with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to solving problems. Relevant professional certifications or equivalent practical experience are welcome.
