We are seeking a Senior Global Data Protection Specialist to lead and support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of data protection practices across an international business. This role will provide expert guidance on privacy laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation and other applicable global requirements. You will work closely with legal, compliance, information security, technology, human resources, marketing and operational teams to ensure that personal data is handled lawfully, securely and transparently throughout its lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include advising on data protection impact assessments, records of processing activities, international data transfers, data-sharing arrangements, retention schedules and privacy-by-design initiatives. You will help manage and enhance policies, standards, procedures and internal guidance, while monitoring regulatory developments and translating them into practical business requirements. The role will also support the assessment and management of data breaches, individual rights requests, privacy risks and third-party data processing activities. You will contribute to awareness programmes and deliver training that strengthens data protection culture across multiple regions and functions.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in a data protection, privacy, compliance or related advisory role, ideally within a complex multinational environment. You should have strong knowledge of global privacy frameworks, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret legislation and communicate its implications clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, maintaining privacy documentation, conducting risk assessments and managing regulatory or audit activity is highly desirable. Professional privacy certification, such as CIPP, CIPM or an equivalent qualification, would be an advantage. You will be organised, pragmatic and confident working independently, with the interpersonal skills to influence decision-making and promote consistent, risk-based data protection practices internationally.
