Cyber Risk Manager
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Risk Manager to lead the development and continual improvement of an enterprise-wide cyber risk management framework. In this role, you will identify, assess and prioritise information security and technology risks, ensuring that risk exposure is clearly understood and managed in line with business objectives, regulatory expectations and recognised industry standards. You will work closely with technology, security, compliance, legal and operational teams to embed effective risk management practices across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include maintaining cyber risk registers, conducting risk assessments for systems, projects, suppliers and business processes, and providing practical advice on appropriate controls and risk treatment plans. You will monitor remediation activity, challenge risk owners where necessary, and prepare clear reports, dashboards and recommendations for senior stakeholders and risk committees. The role will also involve supporting the development of policies, standards and procedures; contributing to security governance and assurance activities; coordinating responses to audit findings; and helping assess the potential impact of emerging threats, vulnerabilities and regulatory change. You may also contribute to incident post-reviews, business continuity planning and the evaluation of third-party cyber risk.
You will bring substantial experience in cyber security, technology risk, information security governance or a closely related discipline, together with a strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, control frameworks and regulatory requirements. Experience with standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT or equivalent frameworks is desirable, as is familiarity with cloud environments, identity and access management, vulnerability management and supplier assurance. Relevant professional qualifications, such as CISM, CISSP, CRISC, or equivalent, would be advantageous. You should be confident engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences, able to translate complex issues into concise business advice, and skilled at influencing stakeholders to deliver sustainable improvements. Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement and a proactive approach are essential.
