Cyber Security Vulnerability Lead

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Vulnerability Lead to develop and oversee a proactive vulnerability management capability across a complex technology environment. You will lead the identification, assessment, prioritisation and remediation of security vulnerabilities affecting applications, infrastructure, cloud services, endpoints and networks. Working closely with cyber security, technology, engineering and operational teams, you will ensure that vulnerabilities are addressed according to business risk, regulatory expectations and agreed service levels.

Key responsibilities will include owning the vulnerability management lifecycle, maintaining effective scanning and assessment processes, validating findings, and producing clear risk-based reports for technical and senior stakeholders. You will establish remediation priorities, monitor progress against agreed deadlines, challenge unresolved risks and provide regular metrics and management information. The role will also involve developing standards, procedures and governance controls; coordinating penetration testing and specialist security assessments; supporting threat-led vulnerability prioritisation; and contributing to incident response, audit activity and security improvement programmes.

Applicants should have substantial experience in vulnerability management, cyber security operations or a closely related discipline, with a strong understanding of common vulnerabilities, attack techniques, security controls and remediation approaches. Experience with vulnerability scanning, asset discovery, risk assessment and reporting tools is essential, together with knowledge of cloud environments, operating systems, networks, databases and application security. You will be confident interpreting technical information and translating it into practical business risk, while influencing stakeholders and working collaboratively across multiple teams. Relevant professional certifications or equivalent practical experience are desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgement, strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
